Stephanie H. Taylor, MD, M Architecture, CIC, FRSPH (UK) After receiving her MD from Harvard Medical School, Boston, Massachusetts in 1984, Dr. Taylor practiced clinical medicine and did academic research in cellular growth mechanisms for the next several decades. During this time, she became increasingly concerned about new infections that harmed too many patients during their hospitalizations. Determined to gain a better understanding of the role of the hospital building in patient outcomes, she returned to school and obtained my master’s degree in Architecture. Dr. Taylor now strives to better understand the relationship between the built environment and occupant health in order to decrease diseases and support occupant health. She is the CEO of Taylor Healthcare Consulting, Inc., and the President of Building4Health, Inc. Her work reveals indoor air factors that impact health, thereby allowing building management to prioritize the most valuable asset, the occupant.
